Each year Australia Post supports the small community groups and charities that often miss out on funding support. The 2015 “Our Neighbourhood Community Grants” program encourages community organisations to apply for funding of one-off cash payments of up to $10,000.
To be considered for a community grant this year, you’ll need to demonstrate how your project fits into one of these four categories.
Digital inclusion
Projects that build digital skills and capability of individuals, groups in the community or the wider community.
Employment pathways
Projects that increase employment opportunities for marginalised Australians.
Community inclusion
Projects that build community spirit, foster inclusion, and support marginalised Australians.
Disaster readiness
Projects that help communities to be better prepared for a disaster.
The emphasis is on community and projects which actively work within the community or which encourage community involvement will be looked upon favourably.
You can find out more about the Our Neighbourhood initiative here.
The 2015 Our Neighbourhood Community Grants open on now and will close on Thursday, 2 April 2015 (5pm AWST). Application details can be found here.
