pexels-photo-601170Time is running out if you want to apply for the Nous Community Partnership Scheme 2017 Round. The deadline for applications is Friday, 24 November 2017 at 5 pm AEDT.

Grant Awards

The grants will be awarded by Nous, a professional management consulting firm. Nonprofits may qualify for a grant of up to $40,000 each, from a total pool of $200,000.

Successful applicants are expected to make a co-contribution of at least 25%, and up to 75%, of the total cost of their consulting project.

Does Your Nonprofit Qualify?

To qualify for a grant, your organisation must firstly be a non-governmental one. Your NFP should deliver services, and/or programs as an actual social enterprise, community-based organisation or as a not-for-profit in Australia.

Important Grant Considerations

In the application, your nonprofit needs to be able to demonstrate that completion of the consulting project will enable it to build its capacity to support positive change and outcomes in one or more of the following areas: social, culture, economics or the environment.

Qualifying projects will not fall outside of Nous service lines of work and include projects that help the NFP to:

  • Better evaluate its programs and measure social impact
  • Facilitate better strategic planning and review
  • Improve organisational performance and development
  • Improve the design of the NFP’s service programs
  • Other projects that improve the NFP’s ability to create meaningful change

What Happens After the Deadline?

Once the application deadline has passed, Nous will promptly review the applications that were received and come up with a list of award finalists. These finalists will then be contacted by telephone where they will be asked for additional information about the project and other questions as part of their interview.

Begin and End Dates for Successfully Funded Projects

A final determination will be made after the interviews, with projects beginning sometime after December 8th, with project completion to be made before the end of the financial year 2017-18.

Can Your NFP Benefit from Consulting Services?

Consulting can benefit nonprofits in several ways. One of the most important is that it offers NFPs a fresh perspective and an unbiased look at their organisation, and its current capabilities. They bring their expertise to the table and help NFPs identify the steps it can take to improve its performance in many areas, including critical functions such as fundraising, brand building, donor retention, volunteer engagement and program development.

Many NFPs automatically assume that consulting is something that only benefits larger nonprofits, despite the fact that consulting has been shown to benefit nonprofit organisations of every size and at every stage of development. Nonprofits that seek professional consulting have a powerful ally to help them increase their sustainable growth and development in the long term.
