Keeping their fingertips on the pulse of your operations involves a great deal of time and commitment on their part, so why not show them just how much you appreciate their hard work and dedication by nominating them for an award?

Recognise Your Volunteer Treasurer for Their Excellent Performance!

Nominations are being accepted from now until 11 am AEST, Friday, July 27, 2018, for the 2018 Commonwealth Bank Not-for-Profit Treasurers’ Awards. This year, judging is based on the management and governance of NFP finances, as well as the outcomes of the treasurer’s policies, practices and projects.

How to Enter

To nominate your treasurer for one of the four awards, fill out the simple entry form that’s available online here. As part of the process, you will need to provide contact information about your organisation. You will also need to explain in about 100 words why you feel your treasurer deserves this award. If you are your organisation’s volunteer treasurer, you can also nominate yourself for recognition!

To be eligible to win, nominees must be the treasurer or served in this capacity within the last 12 months. Treasurers must also have served at an Australian charity, community-service organisation or other not-for-profit to qualify.

Winners Announced During Not-for-Profit Finance Week

Should they win, your treasurer has an opportunity to be awarded a prize up to $5,000! Winners will be announced during the Not-for-Profit Finance week event, which begins on 17 September this year!

Each year during this event, Our Community helps nonprofits shine a spotlight on the need for greater financial literacy by members of the not-for-profit sector. They offer programs and resources that promote good stewardship by board members, executive directors, volunteer treasurers and others involved with the processes that affect the financial stability and sustainability of NFPs.

This awards program is sponsored by Our Community and the Commonwealth Bank. Prior award winners include Sinead Glennon of the Genetic and Rare Disease Network, Paul Beanland with Highgate Early Learning Centre, and Rhonda Doyle from Central Coast Kids in Need.

Nominate Before the Deadline!

Regardless of one’s prior accounting experience, the size of your nonprofit, or, the community that it serves, anyone that is a treasurer with an Australian nonprofit that has pursued excellence in their stewardship and oversight roles has a good chance of winning the recognition and reward that they so richly deserve! So, don’t delay, if you’ve been doing a good job steering your NFP’s finances, or you know a treasurer that is, nominate them now before the 27 July 27 deadline!
