The previous post discussed the image of your organisation and the need to review it.  One important document that can help with your image is your Annual Report.

The Annual Report provides a great opportunity to show in more detail the operations of your organisation that otherwise may be ignored.

For example, use the Annual Report to provide an overview of the services that are provided.  In addition, this can also be ideal to discuss any major projects undertaken throughout the year.  The use of graphs, images and photographs are ideal to present this information as it makes it easy to make the point and get the message across.

Also, highlight significant achievements that have occurred during the year and include a review of the strategic plan and performance against targets and key performance indicators.  This can then lead into information discussing the future direction of the organisation and what the key strategic objectives and targets may be.

Furthermore, the importance of providing this information is that it is also a form of public accountability as it shows how funds, grants and donations have been utilised throughout the year.

The main outcomes from this approach are that the organisation is seen as a credible and trustworthy organisation that the community in more likely to support through donations as well as engaging with the organisation by utilising the range of services.

Remember, the way you present your information is just as important as the information itself.  Take care that it reflects your organisational image.
